Following the downfall of The Wall, Dmitri and his guards attempt to fashion a new prison out of a decaying mansion. Initially fighting the mansion's ghostly inhabitants, they eventually strike a deal with the ghouls; Dmitri and his goons would guard the bodies of the prisoners, and the ghosts would guard their souls. Dying is no longer a relevant option for escape.
