I would have reach deity whistle by now if I was focusing on audios but I was very busy watching too many videos on the movie portal. Turns out that was a lot of ai slop on the audio. Glad you took down all those ai music.

How can the accounts which uploaded prohibited audio be more numerous than flagged or removed AI-generated tracks? 2818 tracks compared to 2843 accounts. That’s not logical to me…
Anyway, the stats are very interesting! Congratulations to everyone who keeps the Audio Portal clean! Special thanks to @G2961 who flagged over 2k GenAI tracks in the website!
@Quest Oh, yeah, you’re right. My bad!
As someone else said, you're doing the lord's work. Glad I could help.
Also, your graphics design for these is so nice. No doubt it helps reach a lot of people, who these days don't "read" in the traditional sense.
I'd love to read your essay when the time comes. I'm available for proofreading/drafting/ideas whenever
That really is a looot of flags! And a lot of work really learning how to hunt these out... nicely done. Curious if you have any automatic tools for any of this? For scanning file metadata against suspect patterns, say?
Would be pretty cool if NG could have some tool of that sort on their servers, and just automatically flag tracks that have the watermarks or common warning signs you describe in the guide; mods verify those. Simplify the process a bit.
Hope this year fares better for you too! 🙏 Gotta have the hope, at least! All the best!
If you want a tool that can quickly spot AI, see my latest news post. Quicksilver is not a perfect tool, but it works really well. It looks at the audio itself, not the metadata. Looking at metadata and spectrograms has to be done manually right now. I've suggested to Tom about putting Quicksilver in Newgrounds so that tracks will be checked for both copyright infringement and AI when someone uploads. However, I don't know if it can be added or if there's the time and budget to. It would make things a lot easier, and catch the majority of AI tracks, just like the copyright detection algorithms catch most stolen tracks.
This year has been much worse so far for me. I hope the rest of it is okay, but I don't have high hopes.
Ooh perfect timing, on my way... time definitely seems a big constraint with all ideas re:NG, or well, budget too if you consider the hiring of more people to implement all these ideas, but it really is impressive how big a platform they can manage with as small a crew as they do, very curious what a regular work day for say liljim's like... seems combatting AI may be a priority anyway, if this keeps ramping up.
Ahh sorry to hear that. :( California... maybe isn't the most stable place to live these days either? Could a move help? Do hope the situation improves somehow...
I would like to know that too, as I don't really know what goes on behind the scenes with managing the website itself. Budget or time might not even be a concern for implementing a tool like Quicksilver into Newgrounds. I just don't know.
California is nice, it's just expensive and the job market is a disaster. Everything's getting more and more expensive with no rising wages to pay it. That's kind of an issue with the US as a whole. California is a lot safer than other states, but I would rather not be in the US at this point. I don't think anywhere in this country is truly safe. Most of what's gone wrong for me this year comes down to personal issues, but living here definitely is not helping.
I'm more so curious how he handles the just constantly presumably gargantuan backlog of tasks I imagine a site this size incurs. :) Reckon staff here have been short on time so long they've become more efficient than most, and that's inspiring... I'd like to pick their brains on how to stay so productive; gain some of that discipline and structure... but who knows, that's just how I imagine life is on the admin side here, hectic but fullfilling, providing this treasure trove for the millions. :)
Mhm. I'd heard beyond pricing that it's getting overly beurocratic, that you need permits for even simple jobs; it's difficult to start a business; there's a waiting time for everything, is that a thing? I may be getting the wrong news there. Good to know on safety though. And it sure LOOKS nice! If it wasn't a region so prone to natural disasters it really seems an entirely utopian place to be.
But at this point I'm not sure anywhere in the world's that safe really... it seems we've headed into a bit more turbulent times, with contemporary leaders just looking for conflict, and growing ideologies and radicalism and polarization in place of lost purpose with the young. I think we might need a certain social decline to get back on track though, and I hope this is actually that; that we're on the verge of actually starting to accept our differences again, and realize we don't need to be on so opposing sides all the time...
Well, I speak of global uncertainties over the personal but, still: 🙏! May they ease! Stay strong; carry on; may better times and/or feels both be within reach!
i hope the best for you <3
